Chairman of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee
Semyon Shapiro was born in 1961 in the village of Rechen, Luban District, Minsk Oblast.
He is Doctor of Economics, Professor. Semyon Shapiro worked as chief economist of the Komsomolets state farm (Dzerzhinsk District) and head of the Mayak company (Dzerzhinsk District). In 1999-2004 he worked at the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus. In 2004 he took charge of Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky. In April 2008 he was appointed Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus. In May 2010 he was appointed Grodno Oblast Governor.
Chairman of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee (since November 2013).
