A delegation of top executives from Facebook's American and European offices headed by Deputy Director for Development Saba Maher visited the Hi-Tech Park (HTP) in Minsk, BelTA learned from the HTP press service.
The HTP informed that last year the HTP Administration and Facebook held a two-day large-scale conference, Facebook Marketing Summit, in the HTP business-incubator. The event brought together more than 400 participants.
During the current visit, the delegation was briefed on the current performance of the HTP. “The members of the delegation were pleasantly surprised with the level of ICT development in Belarus and noted that they were aware of a number of successful IT companies from Belarus and that they keep an eye on them,” the HTP press service said.
During the meeting with Director of the HTP Administration Valery Tsepkalo, the parties exchanged views on the status and prospects of ICT development and discussed the contribution of the Belarusian developers to the development of the global IT industry.
The delegation also visited the HTP business incubator where they got acquainted with the infrastructure and also with the programs of support for start-ups. In the presence of the Facebook representatives the founders of MSQRD app Evgeny Nevgen and Sergei Gonchar left a memorable inscription on the business incubator's “Wall of Fame” wishing successes to start-ups.
The visit was concluded with a trip to the new office of EPAM Systems, a resident company of the Hi-Tech Park. According to the Facebook representatives, the office is very reminiscent of Silicon Valley offices, yet it provides more workspace for developers.
