First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Andrei Belyakov suggested setting up a club of experts in the country and name it Think Tank. This was discussed during the open dialogue Youth and the Policy: A Formula of Responsibility held at the festival Olympia 2016 on 26 August, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Belyakov noted that an open dialogue is a so-called idea generator, a think tank. “Some of the ideas are unique and make us think about the development of not some private interests but the country and the society as a whole. The open dialogue has already evolved into a movement. There is a proposal from the youth union to set up a club to advance this educational trend further,” he stressed.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union is confident that the open dialogue can be held in a televised format. “If supported, the youth union and all the stakeholders are ready to develop this theme,” Andrei Belyakov added.

Deputy Head of the Belarus President's Administration Igor Buzovsky supported the initiative and noted that discussions such as an open dialogue are important. However, the club of experts suggested by the BRSM Youth Union should not become just a project.

“We will support this initiative. It everything goes well, this will be a project necessary to the country, the civil society, intellectuals. Let us think this initiative over to make it work,” Igor Buzovsky said.
