The groundbreaking ceremony took place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone

Zoomlion Company will build a factory to make equipment for Belarusian-Chinese utility vehicles. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 15 April. The enterprise itself is supposed to open in two years, BelTA has learned.

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said during the groundbreaking ceremony: “Belarusian-Chinese relations have been developing very fast in the last ten years both in politics and economy.”

The official reminded that several large-scale projects have been implemented and are being implemented in Belarus with assistance of Chinese capital. As an example he mentioned the construction of three cement mills with the total volume of investments at $1.5 billion and the construction of two power plants, each of which costs $400 million. “We are going to open the BelGee car factory soon. This project is worth $360 million,” said the deputy prime minister of Belarus.

Vladimir Semashko underlined that the groundbreaking ceremony for the factory that will make equipment for Belarusian-Chinese utility vehicles is a good continuation of the already launched projects. In his words, the enterprise will vividly demonstrate the strong aspects of each country in creating a new product not only for Belarus but for the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the European Union. “Road construction machines, construction machines, and municipal vehicles will be made here. The initial investment is close to $50 million. In the near future the enterprise is supposed to turn out up to $300 million worth of merchandise. It will be a good taxpayer and a good employer with about 500 people working at the factory,” said the deputy prime minister.
