BELGEE plans to bring sedan and electric vehicles to market

CJSC "BELGEE" plans to bring sedan and electric vehicles to the market. This was announced today at a press conference by General Director of the enterprise Gennady Svidersky, BelTA has learned.

“We have imported the first batch of electric vehicles. Unfortunately, our expectations and the actual state of affairs are somewhat different. It was planned that customs benefits within the EAEU would be extended. Unfortunately, this did not happen,” Gennady Svidersky said. At the same time, Belarus has a decree that provides for additional benefits in the form of exemption of legal entities from paying value added tax when importing electric vehicles into the country and selling them, as well as organizations producing electric vehicles when importing auto components for them. However, certain changes in accounting are required to receive benefits. The CEO expects that all legal nuances will be settled and Geely electric vehicles will appear on the market.

According to him, the company has almost completely completed the renewal of the model range of cars. Last year, two new models appeared - Geely Coolray and Geely Atlas Pro. “We hope that in 2022 we will have lower investment costs,” the CEO added. However, he noted that he plans to bring a budget sedan to the market. Certification work has been completed, preparation for production is underway.
